Cancer
Several different types of cancer can refer pain to the thoracic region. This includes:
Breast cancer
Pancreatic tumor
Spinal tumor or metastasis to the spine
Early warning signs (Goodman & Snider, 2007): (CAUTION)
Changes in bowel or bladder habits
A sore that does not heal in 6 weeks
Unusual bleeding or discharge
Thickening or lump in breast or elsewhere
Indigestion or difficult in swallowing
Obvious change in a wart or mole
Nagging cough or hoarseness
Proximal muscle weakness or change in deep tendon reflex can also be early warning signs of Cancer.
